SWAT VALLEY PROJECT - HOPE FOR PAKISTANI MUSLIMS

Thousands of Muslims are facing desperate circumstances in Pakistan’s Swat Valley. This past spring, an estimated 3 million people were driven from their villages by widespread destruction and vicious fighting between the national army and the Taliban.
Most, particularly women and children have suffered greatly, and many became deathly ill as they were forced to live in caves, chicken coops, factories and even 30 to a hospital room. The results were diarrhea, malaria, scabies, fever, hunger and malnutrition. In their desperation, some families collected contaminated water from open channels that flow through livestock pens. Now those people are returning home to find their houses, livelihoods and villages destroyed. The infrastructure of the region has been devastated. People are unable to buy even basic food items … and fear of the Taliban continues.
According to CARE International, 70 percent, mostly women and children, are suffering from mental problems caused by the shelling and destruction they have seen. One seven year old boy was unable to speak for 3 weeks … another, age 5, cries whenever a plane or helicopter flies overhead. He’s afraid that, like his older brother, he’ll be killed.
While Frontiers is not a relief agency, we believe God has once again prepared us to respond in His name through workers who know the language and culture … and how to get things done.
Your gift to this project will help provide critically needed items, including food, clean water and medicine to meet dire human needs and show Christ’s love to unreached Muslims. Please help to open doors for effective evangelism and church planting in the Swat Valley. Your gift will be used to:
- Provide food, clean water, medicines and other immediate needs - Rebuild homes and businesses - Replant fields - Distribute Bibles and portions of Scripture
